JOHN POWER - RIP

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of our dear friend and long-time supporter, John Power — affectionately known to many of us as JP.

John was a close friend of the club and we shared countless memories over the years.

JP’s company, Mid Kent Metals, initially joined us as a kit sponsor, but John's support didn’t stop there. In time, Mid Kent Metals became our main club sponsor, playing a vital role in helping Phoenix climb the leagues.

Through John's generosity, the club was able to achieve crucial ground grading requirements — from new stands and a generator to a club van and many other contributions that made a lasting difference. His commitment to Phoenix was unwavering, and his impact can be seen in every corner of our club.

John was a larger-than-life character, full of fun, honesty, and heart. He never left you guessing — you always knew where you stood with JP. His presence lit up every room, and his legacy will continue to do so at Phoenix.

Our deepest condolences go out to his beloved wife Lynne, his family, and especially to his brother Micky — a true Phoenix stalwart.

Rest in peace, JP. You left an indelible mark on Phoenix Sports Club and on all who had the pleasure of knowing you.
