Phoenix travel to third-placed Bearsted on Saturday.

Phoenix Sports travel to Bearsted FC on Saturday as they return to competitive action for the first time in February.

Jake Goodman’s side will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches, but face a Bearsted team full of confidence after climbing to third in the table with a 2–0 midweek victory at Erith & Belvedere.

The Bears have been inspired this season by Jake Embery, who struck for the 19th time this campaign at Park View Road on Wednesday night — his second goal in as many games.

The sides have already met twice this season. Phoenix claimed a dramatic 3-2 league win thanks to a late winner from Will Efambe, while Bearsted gained revenge in the Kent Senior Cup with a 2–0 victory over a depleted Phoenix side.

Phoenix utilised last weekend with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Rochester United, cruising to a 4–0 win with goals from Kieron McCann, Lyle Della Verde and a brace from Taylor Fisher.

New signing Jahmal Hector Ingram could be in contention for his debut after arriving from Sheppey Sports two weeks ago. The former West Ham United and Derby County man is nearing full fitness as he recovers from a minor knock.

Victory on Saturday could lift Phoenix as high as eighth in the table, depending on results elsewhere, with many of the play-off contenders also in action this weekend.

From Junction 7 of the M20 follow signs to Bearsted, take second exit into New Cut Road, continue to T Junction (Asford Road) turn left and continue up to second traffic lights. Turn left into Willington Street and carry on to the crown of the road and turn left into Derinwood Road, carry on past parade of shops on left hand side and turn right into Church Road.

Carry on until reaching the left hand turn of White Horse Lane. Ground entrance is on the right hand side past the new housing estate.
