Phoenix back in league action on Tuesday night

Phoenix Sports will look to bounce back from last weekend’s setback when they travel to face Holmesdale FC at the RTL Group Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Jake Goodman’s side were left frustrated after a 4–2 defeat to Punjab United last time out - a game in which Phoenix twice led before being undone in the latter stages.
Despite the result, there were positives to take, including a sensational solo strike from returning forward Jamarie Brissett, who marked his first game back at the club in style.
There’s been further activity off the pitch this week as Goodman continues to strengthen his squad.
Midfielder Louie Downey joins from Step Three side Chertsey Town, while attacking midfielder Victor Damyanov arrives on dual registration from Cray Wanderers, also at Step Three level. The club has also added left-sided defender Sacha Rouviere, who links up with the Sports on a similar deal.
Those additions add depth and quality to a squad determined to respond positively after last weekend’s defeat and get back to winning ways in the league.
Saturday’s hosts, Holmesdale, will provide another tough challenge. The Dalers have shown strong home form this season winning five and losing just once and will be looking to make the most of their advantage at the RTL Group Stadium, but
Phoenix will travel hoping to put in a performance that will reignite their season and get them climbing the table.
With several exciting new faces in the squad and a determination to turn performances into points, it promises to be another competitive afternoon of SCEFL action.
