Phoenix back in action with Punjab the visitors on Saturday (3pm)

Phoenix return to league action on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Punjab United to the Christopher Russell Stadium (3pm).
Jake Goodman’s side progressed in the SCEFL Challenge Cup on Wednesday night after a penalty shootout win over Lewisham Borough Community FC, following a 1–1 draw in normal time.
Tyrese Agbontaen scored his first Phoenix goal ending a three-game goal drought for the Sports.
Attention now turns back to league matters, where Goodman’s men will aim to carry that momentum into the visit of Chipie Sian’s Punjab in front of their home supporters.
There have been several changes to the squad this week. Jerson Dos Santos, Sam Freeman, and Martin Youngah have all departed the club, and everyone at Phoenix thanks them for their efforts and wishes them well for the future.
Joining the ranks are two new goalkeepers, Lee Kidman and Carter Wilson, both adding depth and competition between the sticks while Jamarie Brissett returned to the club on Tuesday.
There’s also a proud moment for the club’s youth setup, with U18s defender Freddie Hunt called into the senior matchday squad for the first time after impressing in recent performances at youth level.
Saturday’s visitors Punjab United are always strong opponents and will arrive at the Christopher Russell determined to continue their solid league form. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in September with Jake Goodman on the scoresheet for Phoenix.

The Christopher Russell Stadium is easily accessible on public transport:
By train: Barnehurst Station is just a 10-minute walk from the ground—this line runs regularly through Travelcard Zone 5
By bus: The 492 stops directly outside the ground
From central London: A direct Southeastern train from Charing Cross to Barnehurst takes around 40 minutes
There is parking in the school opposite the ground parking in the side streets that surround the ground. With a larger than usual attendance expected we're expecting it to be busier than usual.
