Phoenix Sports turn their attention to the FA Vase on Saturday (3pm) as they host Sporting Bengal United at the Christopher Russell Stadium.

It will be the first game in temporary charge for Jake Goodman, who steps in following the departure of Darren Anslow after last weekend’s defeat to Snodland. Goodman will be joined in the dugout by U19s manager James Marrs and U18s boss Steve Morris, with the trio aiming to spark a response as Phoenix look to regroup in cup competition.

Their visitors are a Sporting Bengal side buoyed by recent success. The East London club enjoyed back-to-back promotions over the last two seasons and reached Step 4 for the first time in their history in 2024, though they were relegated at the first attempt.

Phoenix will have to make do without recent signing Khavarn Williams, who is cup-tied, while Harry Barnes faces a late fitness test. U18s goalkeeper Callum Morris has been included in the matchday squad for the first time.

Saturday’s tie has all the ingredients of a lively contest. Phoenix will be eager to respond positively after a difficult week, with kick-off at the Christopher Russell Stadium at 3pm.

Supporters are reminded that season tickets are not valid for this fixture, as it is an FA Vase match.
