Phoenix Sports are delighted to confirm that Jake Goodman will continue as the club’s First-Team Manager for the 2026/27 season.

Appointed player-manager in October, Goodman made a significant impact both on and off the pitch, overseeing a major overhaul of the squad and guiding the club to a strong finish to the season.

Under his leadership, the side enjoyed an impressive 11-game unbeaten run, including emphatic victories over play-off finalists Rusthall and completing a league double over fourth-placed Larkfield.

Goodman, who made 41 appearances for Phoenix last season, will also continue his playing career at Phoenix.

Speaking after agreeing to continue in the role, Goodman said:

“I’m really pleased to be staying at Phoenix for another season. We’ve built a strong group here with a fantastic spirit around the squad, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward with the players and staff.

There’s a real hunger to improve and achieve something together, and I’m looking forward to what we can accomplish in 2026/27.

I want to thank the club’s board and especially the club’s Chairman, Tony Crowder, for the trust he’s shown in me so far.”

The club can also confirm that Assistant Manager James Marrs will remain alongside Goodman for the upcoming season, continuing the partnership that has helped drive standards both in training and on matchdays.

In addition, Luke Johnson will stay on as First-Team Coach, providing further continuity to the coaching setup.

Phoenix Chairman Tony Crowder welcomed the news, saying: “We’re delighted that Jake, James and Luke will all be continuing with the club next season. Stability and continuity are incredibly important as we continue to build for the future, and the work they’ve done together has been really positive.

“Jake has shown excellent leadership since coming in at the start of October, and the turnaround in performances and results were clear.

“James Marrs has also been a vital member of the management team, and we’re excited to see the group continue developing ahead of the new campaign with the aim of winning promotion back to Step Four”

Further announcements regarding the 2026/27 season including a full list of pre-season friendlies will be made in due course.
