Phoenix travel to face play-off hopefuls Larkfield & New Hythe on Saturday as Jake Goodman’s side continue a crucial run of fixtures that could define their season.

After beginning March in emphatic fashion with a convincing victory over Rusthall, Phoenix know momentum will be vital in the weeks ahead. Matches against Hollands & Blair, Tunbridge Wells and Holmesdale also await this month, with the outcomes likely to shape where their campaign ultimately finishes.

If they are to mount a serious challenge for the top five, Phoenix are aware that an extended winning run is essential. Saturday’s trip provides another opportunity to build on last weekend’s result and continue applying pressure on the sides above them.

The earlier meeting between the two teams this season proved one of Phoenix’s standout performances of the campaign. Goals from Paul Lee, Lyle Della Verde and a Will Efambe brace secured a dominant 4-0 victory.

Larkfield, however, will be desperate to respond after a difficult spell. They have taken just two points from their last six league games, suffering defeats to Corinthian, Chislehurst Glebe and Faversham Strikeforce, while also losing their last four home matches.

Despite that run, they still possess a potent attacking threat. Tyler Ibe and Matt Day have combined for 30 goals this season, with Kesna Clarke also reaching double figures with 10.

For Phoenix, three points on Saturday would not only strengthen their push up the table but could move them to within four points of the play-off places, while also closing the gap on Larkfield themselves.

The nearest railway station is New Hythe railway station, which is only a short walk from the ground and sits on the line between Strood and Paddock Wood.
