Stansfeld FC visit Phoenix on Saturday

Phoenix Sports will hope it is third time lucky on Saturday afternoon as they finally look to kick off 2026 at the Christopher Russell Stadium, welcoming Stansfeld to DA7 after two consecutive league postponements.
Phoenix return to league action for the first time since December 27th, but do so on the back of an encouraging run of form. Jake Goodman’s side are unbeaten in five matches, a sequence that includes emphatic 4-0 league victories over Hythe Town and Larkfield & New Hythe, as well as a cup win over Saturday’s opponents, Stansfeld.
That said, Phoenix will be eager to sharpen their cutting edge. Their last two outings have both ended 1-1, and with 14 league fixtures remaining, turning draws into wins will be key. Currently sitting five points outside the play-off places, momentum over the coming weeks could prove decisive.
Phoenix are already well acquainted with Stansfeld this season, having faced them twice. Back in September, an Ahkeem Belford strike proved the difference in a narrow league victory, while a superb brace from Jamarie Brissett secured progression in the League Cup at Stansfeld’s expense last month.
The visitors arrive in DA7 occupying 18th place in the league table and 15th in the form standings, but their position does not tell the full story. Stansfeld have drawn four of their last six league matches, including a creditable 3-3 draw with Whitstable Town in November. In the reverse fixture last time out, they were unfortunate to leave empty-handed, conceding twice late on after a red card allowed the Oystermen to snatch the points.
Stansfeld’s last league victory came eight games ago, but it was an impressive one - a 3-1 win away at Snodland Town and they continue to show signs of life as they battle for survival.
With Phoenix aiming to reignite their push for the play-offs and Stansfeld desperate for points at the other end of the table, Saturday’s contest promises to be a competitive encounter.

The Christopher Russell Stadium is easily accessible on public transport:
By train: Barnehurst Station is just a 10-minute walk from the ground—this line runs regularly through Travelcard Zone 5
